A gloriously sunny, Sunday morning had the Giants from Latchford visiting Bear Park to play against a Bears team backing up after a hard fought game at Blackbrook 3 days earlier and on a pitch that looked like the "sheep had had a week off" (quote from the official).
If the home side were a little fatigued from their midweek exertions it didn't show as the execution of their plays left the Giants bewildered as how to deal with the slick handling and impressive support play, coupled with a watertight defence this was the Blacks at their ruthless best. Tries came at regular intervals for the home side and with only 3 missed conversions to go with the 10 tries it was a comprehensive win. Everyone playing their part with Michael Potts constantly breaking the line and the ever supporting Owen Draper a thorn in the Giants' side as they were constantly having to do back up defence without much possession. When the Giants had ball in hand it was the resolute defence from Brad Taylor, Liam Watson, Alistair Rothwell, Christian Rowland and Sam Reeves in the middles which prevented any progress and with Owen Rowbotham, Vini Davi and Leon Marsh holding the edges it allowed Thomas Dean and Jack Cottington the space to distribute wisely. The end result a comprehensive one for the home side who must now take this form in to Sunday's Cup Final.
